SGNA is accredited as an Approver and Provider of Continuing Education in Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

SGNA is pleased to accept applications from providers of gastroenterology and/or endoscopy-related continuing education offerings for consideration of awarding contact hour approval.

Beginning January 1, 2007, contact hours for all NEWLY approved educational activities will be calculated based on every 60 minutes of learning time provided.

1 contact hour = 60 minutes of learning time

Starting on January 1, 2009, please note the following important changes to the approval process for nursing contact hours:

• Applications for nursing contact hour approval must be received at least 30 days prior to the scheduled learning activity
• Applications received at SGNA Headquarters 15 – 29 days prior to the activity will incur a $100 additional fee
• Applications received less than 15 days prior to the scheduled learning activity will not be accepted for review.
